General Information, The Board, The President, The Office

On October 28-29, the Secretaries of our Assistancy came together for a two-day meeting at JCEAO Office with Fr. Adolfo Nicolás. Frs Pham Minh-Uoc and Tom Steinbugler also joined them.

• November 3–4: EAO Consult Meeting, JCEAO Office
• November 5–26: Fr Nicolas’ trip to Javier, Spain for a Congress on Mission and to Rome for meetings of the Juridical Commission for the preparation of GC 35.
• November 23: EAPI Board of Trustees’ Meeting, EAPI

October 28–29: EAO Secretaries’ Meeting, Manila, Philippines

• August 30 – September 02: Treasurers’ Training, Thailand.
• September 4 – 6: Treasurers’ Meeting, Thailand.
• September 25 – October 6: Fr Nicolás’ mission visit to East Timor.

The Our Lady of Fatima Residence community played the gracious host to the meeting of the Major Superiors last July 11–16.

• August 4–5: Meeting of National Secretaries of Education in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
• August 5–7: Formators' Meeting, Philippines.
• August 21: Fr Nicolás leaves for the AJCU meeting in South Korea. He then goes to Japan on August 25 to process his immigration documents and for some physical check-ups. He will be back in Manila on September 11.
• August 30–September 2: Treasurers' Training, Thailand.

• July 5–10: Fr Nicolas visits Cambodia for the last time as its Major Superior.
• July 11–16: Meeting of EAO Major Superiors in Macau. This will culminate with a visit to Shangchuan Island.
• July 17–September 22: Fr Pham Minh-Uoc will visit Taiwan and proceed to Japan to finish the last phase of his Tertianship.
• July 23–September 03: East Asian Theological Encounter Program is going to be launched in Thailand.

After spending two months in Nagasaki for the first part of his Tertianship Program, Fr. Pham Minh-Uoc SJ (ASL) flies to Manila for a brief visit at JCEAO office, from Oct 15 to Nov 3, 2005. He meets with the President Fr. Adolfo Nicolas SJ, the present Socius Fr. Riyo, and the staffs. In these three weeks he is guided through all the daily activities of the offfice so that he can become more familiar with his future responsibilies as Socius, which will start from January 2006.

The President of the JCEAO convenes the consultors to have a meeting in Oct 5–6. The group welcomes Fr. Matthias CHAE Joon-ho, the Provincial of the new province Korea, as a new consultor. Then the secretaries will meet in Oct 8–10. Both meetings will take place at the JCEAO Office in Manila.
